movies

I finally updated my movie list. Mainly with the 100 movies I brought back from Shanghai last July. And the stuff I've bought here since then (about 30 :-S). Got somewhat more than 850 now, with about 1/3 Asian movies, and quite a few rarities among them. If only I'd manage to watch them more often :-S

easter

My godchild's mum who passed away more than two years ago painted this easter egg for me:

H all of a sudden decided to go see a friend. So Tuesday and I have the place all to ourselves. And it feels almost like being back in Taipei, totally relaxed, with moon cakes, red bean balls, 八寶茶, 張學友 in the cd player, updating my movie list, chatting with a German guy in Egypt who used to live in Taiwan and looking forward to a couple of videos as soon as I've cleaned up my "nobody's here to bother" mess (my aunt and grandparents will drop by tomorrow) and heated up the frozen pizza. If I'd known that he'd leave I'd have made sure to have tomorrow to myself, too.

district court

I was sworn in by the vice president of the Halle district court today. I'm a publicly appointed and sworn translator for English, French and Chinese now. Not that this fact would actually create jobs :-S

blogging family

My Singapore-based Swiss cousin Tamar was first and up to now has been the funniest and most diligent blogger in the family (she's the one from whom I got the Blogthings links and who sent me this as a belated April fools day joke). Her sister Noemi was next. But she's so busy getting straight A's, she doesn't have too much time to post ;-)
Then it was me. A little funnier and exciting back when I started while still in Taipei. In December, Noemi's and Tamar's brother Jonathan set up his blog, linking to a forum full of airplane pics - the perfect combination of his two most favorite things in the world (afaik), taking pics and looking at airplanes ;-)) and blogging some of what he does while studying in Montreal. And yesterday, my brother caved in and set up his blog. Wonder who'll be next... It's about time Sarah set up hers. Life in Munich should be interesting enough ;-) even if she spends her time babysitting twins and driving around in her 2CV ;-)

EDIT: and there it is: Sari's blog
