Germany is suffering under a cold spell coming over from Russia. While we're lucky enough here to have to put up with just 10 degrees minus (unlike the 30 to 40 they had in Russia), that's still cold enough to freeze over the lakes in the area (many of which are former open pits that are flooded to restore the natural ground water level). Creating odd sights like in this former allotment area.
